Many women choose to have cosmetic gynecology for various reasons. The muscles of the vagina loosen with aging, childbirth or deformities distorting the normal anatomy of the vagina. This can lead to pelvic pain, decreased sexual enjoyment, difficult bowel movements and uncontrolled urination after sneezing, laughing, coughing or lifting heavy objects. Whether you’re considering a cosmetic gynecology procedure due to childbirth, urinary incontinence or for aesthetic reasons, One Health offers a resolution custom to you.
Cosmetic Gynecology, also known as Vaginoplasty, is a procedure to rejuvenate the vagina and obtain the best sexual experience possible. The muscles are weak and poorly supported resulting in poor strength, tone and control. The internal and external diameters increase and become weak and poorly supported.
Vaginoplasty is usually performed as an outpatient procedure under general or local anesthesia. The surgery can last between 1-2 hours depending on the extent of the vaginal relaxation and whether both the anterior and posterior muscles are treated.
During the consultation, a thorough gynecological examination will be done and realistic expectations are discussed.
During the procedure, the Cosmetic Surgeon will remove excess vaginal lining, surrounding tissue and tighten the vaginal muscles at the back of your vagina with dissolvable stitches while removing any excess skin. This gives an immediate decrease in the diameter with minimal internal scaring.
After the procedure, within a few days the patient can walk comfortably and resume sexual activity within 4-6 weeks.
